Turkey Shoot Out Nov 12 ,2016

We have been challenged by the GTO club (our owling competitors) to a Turkey Shoot competition!

Who: All Club members, family and friends

When:  Saturday, Nov 12 – 9am to Noon

Where : Estacada Rod and Gun Club,

23400 SE Eagle Creek Road, Eagle Creek, Oregon

Cost: $5.00 for two targets. More can be purchased.

No, we aren’t going to shoot at turkeys, but turkey targets. The targets are scored and the winner

takes home the turkey. Really! A frozen turkey! The event will happen at the Estacada Rod and Gun

Club (ERGC) in Eagle Creek at 9am. We must be there promptly at 9am. Each team member shoots at two targets, 10 shots at each target. The target is 8.5” x 11” paper with a turkey printed on the side you see. On the back, however, is a grid with random numbers that you can’t see. Accuracy is only “sort of” important!

You just need to hit the paper. Your score will be totaled from the numbers you hit on the back of the target. So, the winners will be decided by luck. Even if you aren’t a professional marksman, you can have fun “competing” in this event. Yes, we will have ammo and guns there for you to use. Come on out and have fun.   The GTO club said they had a blast (hee hee) last year at this event. This event is  open to the public so the car clubs will not be the only people there. All ERGC   gun safety rules will be enforced. We will be shooting .22 cal. rifles and/or pistols which are very easy to shoot with no recoil. Nothing bigger is allowed. There will be a separate class for the pistol shooters. Kids can shoot if they are seven years or older with parental guidance. Ear protection provided. Eye protection required for kids, recommended for everyone. Victory lunch will follow the event, location to be announced at the meeting. Clean those guns and get ready for some fun!
